MLA's must make their stand clear

GBA PRESS RELEASE 24th Jan ’07: The Goa Bachao Abhiyan has noted with dismay that inspite of the public demand to de-notify the Regional Plan 2011 with retrospective effect i.e. from 10.8.2006, the MLAs who constitute the ruling alliance i.e. the Congress, NCP and MGP have not made their stand clear on the floor of the house which is currently in session.

The People of Goa demand that these MLAs make their stand clear before the 25th January, 2007, or face the wrath of the people.

We reiterate our call to the Gram Sabhas of all the villages to strongly oppose the Regional Plan 2011 and demand for its de-notification with retrospective effect i.e. from 10.8.2007 (the day the Regional Plan 2011 was notified) by passing a Resolution in this respect on 26th January, 2006. The Republic Day holds strong significance to the cause since the Government has shown no respect to the Constitution of India by completely ignoring the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments, as they have not consulted the local bodies while formulating the Regional Plan 2011.
